We were pleased to see so many new faces at the meeting, in a packed Gander Mountain Lodge room, on February 28. There were only two minor changes.

1. Membership fees will be $10.00 per season, beginning this year, 2010.
2. There will be a 100% pay back at all tournaments.

We were also happy to reach a new goal in our 2009 season. We averaged 21 boats per tournament. We thank every team, we hope you enjoyed our tournaments, and return to fish our 2010 tournament season.

As many of you know, back on March 7, 2007, a soldier based at Camp Liberty, Iraq, CW3 Billy Shults, posted on our message board. CW3 Shults requested a fishing care package for our troops because they were unable to purchase fishing tackle in Iraq.

Electric Bass Circuit members, along with the help of The Bass Station, and the Patriots at the VFW Sabec Memorial Post 9582, sent a fishing care package to our troops.

The soldiers of Alpha 1-14 FA, honored us with a United States Flag which was flown over the Headquarters of the Multi-National Corps-Iraq in our honor during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Included with the Flag, was a Certificate and Request Form.

We thank the soldiers of Alpha 1-14 FA, and all of our soldiers, stateside and abroad.

After the weigh-in at yesterdays Stonelick Lake tournament, EBC members had a group photo session with the Flag and Certificate. The photos are posted below.

Several years ago I read an article about Through-The-Gill Hook Removal, and I'm very glad I did.

A few weeks after reading the article, I was bass fishing on a windy day. The wind made fishing quite difficult. I was using a tube with a 1/16 ounce weight. I detected a bite, but it was too late, a 2 lb. bass swallowed my tube, along with the hook.

I remembered reading the Through-The-Gill Hook Removal article, and the only chance for the bass survival was for me to try the Through-The-Gill Hook Removal method. The method worked great!!! Not one drop of blood, and the bass swam away to fight another day.

Click on the link below for step-by-step instructions. I recommend all bass anglers check it out.
